Life Science Park
The Life Science Park at Gujarat Science City has been developed over an area of 9000 sq. meter, aims to bring science and nature to life.
The main objective of this interactive and outdoor park is to enthuse children in the study of nature and in evolution, propagation and sustenance of life on this planet.
Through various activities in the Life Science Park, children will develop a sense of care and love towards plants and animals around them.

Butterfly Park and
Cretaceous Park has a theme on evolution of life with Giant Reptiles and the Dinosaur is a very popular exhibit amongst the children.
The Giant Reptiles – a full scale Tyrannosaurus (T-Rex), two other smaller movable dinosaurs (Dinonics) and little dino chicks coming out of eggs are displayed in this section.
Three different species of exotic birds such as Love birds, Budgerigars & Cockatiels are exhibited in this corner. Geese & Silver pheasant are exhibited in Non-flying bird corner. Visitors can study and observe their biodiversity, variation in their natural habitat and behaviours.
Cactus represents the desert ecology & Succulents represents the juicy plants.
A small Cactus & Succulent Corner have been developed to show and educate visitors about Cactus, Succulents & their importance. Over 50 different varieties of both Cactus & Succulents are exhibited in these corners so visitors can get some more interesting facts about this untouched world of Cacti & Succulents.
Different varieties of plant species are located in these sections of Life Science Park with botanical name of each plant with photographs, plant family and uses.
Ornamental Plant Beds:All the house plants and decorative plants are planted in these ornamental beds. The plants which are used for ornamental purpose. e.g. Croton varieties, Drecina varieties, Palm varieties, Bonsai etc.
Economical Plant Beds:Plants which are of economic importance such as fruits. e.g. Cherry, Jamun, Chiku, Jamfal, Sitafal, Rayan, Kaju etc.
Aromatic Plant Beds:Fragrant flowering plants are planted in this area on which flowering is seasonal. These are used for making of perfumes, agarbatti etc. e.g. Mogara, Ratrani, Jasmin, Rajanigandha etc.
Medicinal Plant Beds:A range of medicinally important plant species are covered in this segment. e.g. Aloe Vera, Putranjiva, Ardusi, Aritha etc.
Plant Tissue Culture is an advanced biotechnology technique in which a part of plant like stem, node, leaf or root is grown under very controlled and aseptic condition using artificial media in laboratory. Aim of setting up a demonstrative Tissue Culture Lab is to create social awareness about innovative science technologies and to encourage students for research in the field of Plant Biotechnology.
Butterfly Park at Science City is an imitation of Butterflys natural habitat. Special varieties of Feed plants & Nectar bearing plants that attract butterflies are planted atButterfly Park.
Plantation is done to desire atmosphere for housing, feeding and breeding of the different species of natural butterflies.
Aim of Butterfly Park is to study the life cycle of this wonder of nature & a small effort to study the Biodiversity.
River system describes origin of rivers, flow of rivers from hilly regions, confluencee of three rivers into one, check dam on river, formation of Delta in the river mouth before falling into the Sea and water circulation.
